Tango 23 Repetitor exhibition over, helping veterans remains a priority for Mikov

On Friday, 27 October, it was possible to see for the last time in the Mikulášovice Museum of Knifemaking Tradition the exhibition dedicated to the fate of the soldiers of the Czech UN mission at the Tango 23 - Repetitor observation point, which was tragically terminated on 5 August 1995 during the Croatian operation Oluja.
During its duration, the exhibition was viewed by 2300 visitors, who were very interested in it and also came to see it for whole school classes. The event, which for many primary school pupils belongs somewhere in the grey past, was thus able to take on concrete dimensions for them, thanks to the joint activity of Mikov and former members of UNPROFOR.
Mikov also made a documentary about the story of the Tango 23 Repetitor veterans, which has been viewed by over 2,500 viewers on YouTube so far. The film can be viewed here:
One of the aims of the exhibition was to draw attention to the auction of 2 pieces of Repetitor military knives, specially made by Mikov with the names of the two fallen soldiers Luděk Zeman and Petr Valeš and the shrapnel of the mortar shell that caused the tragedy embedded in the blade. In an open auction on the Aukro portal, the knives were auctioned for a total amount of CZK 95,700, which will be donated to help war veterans.
A big surprise for everyone was the discovery that both knives were auctioned by one of the former participants of the mission, but who wished to remain anonymous. So it is likely that both knives will be seen at similar exhibitions in the future.
Mikov, which manufactures a complete range of cutlery, office and connecting equipment and whose group also includes the manufacturer of hand tools Narex Bystřice, considers it an honour to be able to cooperate with the leadership of the Czech Army to help Czech war veterans. It expresses this specifically through the long-term War Veteran Project, which has already brought over CZK 300,000 to the Military Solidarity Fund.
